The Athletics-Recreation Center was opened in 1984 and has served as the home for the Valpo men’s basketball team ever since. The ARC provides the Crusaders with a huge home-court advantage, as Valpo has won over 81% of its home games over the last 20 years.
An intimate facility, the main arena has undergone numerous renovations over the last few years. A brand-new floor, dedicated as Homer Drew Court, was installed prior to the 2010-2011 season. The arena also now features a four-sided ceiling-hung video board above center court, while new side scoreboards were also installed this past summer.
The ARC also contains all the facilities necessary to help Crusader men’s basketball players achieve their full potential.
The Mosak Performance Center provides student-athletes with a wide array of strength and conditioning equipment, while the ARC also contains a fully equipped training room with the latest in treatment and rehab modalities.
The spacious locker room includes individual locker areas for each player, conveniently located adjacent to the main arena. The Schrage Basketball Wing contains all the basketball coaches’ offices, as well as a team room which serves as an off-the-court hangout for the players. The team room is equipped with a pair of flat-screen LCD televisions, an HDTV-equipped projection screen and a surround sound system.
