Tyler Vostry returns for his second season as student assistant coach after serving as a team manager for each of the program’s first two years. Vostry helped guide the Crusaders to their winningest season in program history a year ago.
An accomplished bowler in his own right, Vostry was one of six male bowlers to earn a spot on the USBC Junior Team USA 2012 after a stellar performance at the 2011 USBC Junior Gold Championships. Junior Team USA competes in several prestigious events all over the world, such as the World Youth Championships.
Vostry finished the Junior Gold Championships in ninth place, with a total pinfall of 9,909 pins over the 46 games. His final block total of 1,806 pins ranked second among the tournament field, while his 11-5 mark in match play over the final two blocks matched the second-best record in the field.
Vostry was named the Bowler of the Year for the Illinois State Youth Leaders Tour last year, and was three times named the Illinois State Star of Tomorrow for three straight years during his high school days. A junior majoring in accounting and finance, Vostry is a native of Plainfield, Ill.
